Does anyone else have trouble holding individual stocks?

No matter how much research I do, I feel like I still don’t fully understand a business so I have trouble holding it for the long term. I’ll always find a reason to sell it, whether the price went up and I can lock in a profit, or the price is lower than where I bought six months later. Or maybe I hear someone I respect say they would sell or that the business has a problem. My emotions get involved and I just end up going crazy thinking about all the variables and possibilities.

The only thing I’m capable of holding long term is VOO or another index fund. This has made me realize I’m better off just having all my money there. I can just buy it and hold it and not have to worry about what’s going on with a business or anything. If it goes down, no problem. If it goes up, great.

Anyone else feel this way?
