Question is related to this article. TLDR India says no tax exemptions unless Tesla creates jobs in India.
I'm in the machinery sector. In my experience, Chinese (I suspect Indians will be similar), don't want state of the art, automated facilities and instead prefer as much manual labour as possible. They want to be able to say: “we created XXX new jobs at this facility” instead of: “it will be run by 6 guys and a dog who makes sure the 6 guys don't touch anything”.
Tesla is all about robots. Can they create factories in India that employ people in manufacturing? Would they?
