Would you choose FSKAX as a place to put you money.

I hear a lot about VTI and am wondering, is FSKAX just as viable? Everything I see is to avoid Mutual funds, go for index funds. Are they not the same thing? I just need some help, I am sitting on a lot of cash from an inheritance and am trying to find away to secure an early retirement. Currently I opened a Roth IRA and did max it at the 6k for now.
