I own PLTR. I bought most of my shares at 13 and 12 and I like how the company has no debt and billions in cash and assets. I also really like the stock based compensation because I believe that people who help build companies should get equity in the wealth they produce.
However.
Alex Karp is acting like a dingus. He seems arrogant and incoherent and it seems that he lacks the skills to communicate the awesomeness of PLTR to others.
I think this could be a critical flaw, and it's something I really only saw for the first time this past quarter… In the past I always gave Alex a pass. I understand that they aren't sales people. I understand that they are tech nerds. However, this is a company. You have to sell yourself if you're going to make money.
And to be honest, I feel like Alex presents pltr in a slightly toxic way. He says pltr is the best, but his company hasn't even broken even yet lol. It's insane, and I have to think that his attitude has to be shared with others at the company…. I feel like that lack of humility could impact the company and lower the growth of sales and potentially even deter some companies from considering working with PLTR.
In the long term I like pltr. I think it's a solid company and they're doing very good work for governments and private tech. However, I am starting to have reservations with Alex being the face of the company. I feel like pltr needs a hype man.
They need an Elon musk or a Steve Jobs who is going to come out with a giddy smile and say “look at this cool shit we just made. It's going to blow your mind.”
Dude, the YouTubers do a better job of getting me excited about PLTR than they CEO does. That's a problem.
