Will AI face a huge backlash?

The markets seem to think that a lot of money is to be made from AI, that stocks using AI in their apps will do very well. But I think AI maybe banned or at least socially rejected. Things without AI may look attractive.

In social media, it seems AI chat bots can post comments and spread advertisements. People here won't know if they are replying to comments by AI chat bots or if there are real people. Advertisers maybe fooled into thinking it's a good idea and can reach people everywhere without having to torture people with popup ads or stealing people's personal information and selling it behind the customer's back. Subliminal ads that were flashed on screens yet not noticed by viewers were banned from drive-in theaters in around the 1950's or 1960's. Big tobacco ads were banned from TV in the 1970's. I think covert AI maybe banned from social media in order to attract users who want to chat or comment with real people.

I think people will get frustrated and ask “Can I talk with a person?” If people start moving their accounts to a different banks or abandoning e-commerce sits that use AI, the social rejection of AI can't be ignored by business.

Then there is the security issue. Now AI with a sample of your voice can make fake messages in your voice, maybe calls to your relatives and report an emergency and ask for money. The predictive dialer destroyed the telemarketing industry and caused the DNC list registry to be available to help limit harassing TM phone calls. I think chat bots may caused at least parts of AI to be banned voluntarily by business and maybe involuntarily by government.
