why do people do TA on an ETF like SPY if SPY tracks the movement of the SP500 index?

Can someone ELI5. I see all the time people doing technical analysis on SPY, but how is that relevant if the price of SPY is dependant on the movement of the underlying SP500 index, which relies on movement of individual stocks?
