The bear market will probably last a year and a half like most bear market/recessions do. At most it will probably last 3 years. This isn't the 1900's. We have the internet where you can literally buy a house, order food, sign up for a job and never leave your home. Consumer spending is the easiest it has been in human history. You can literally do anything without leaving your bed. The economy will bounce back eventually and the biggest obstacle we have to face is wealth inequality which will be solved by the government or civil unrest. Volatility is much higher and more frequent in our day and age.
