Who ends up paying you for stock?

I know the title is a little unspecific so let me explain.
Let's say back before Amazon got popular you buy a billion shares. Fast forward to now, you sell all them. Amazon is trading at $110, so times that by a billion, and you would get a hundred ten billion dollars. Who actually ends up paying you?
