Which metrics do you see before an investment?

I just started reading the SEC filings of a company that I'm interested in investing, but the document has at least over 100 pages for each quarter. It's just exhausting to finish reading.

I'm quite intrigued and wondering which metrics or documents do you use before making your investment?
