I understand the algorithm for SPY, and thereby XLK.
That is, a business needs to have positive earnings for 2 quarters. Must be the top 500 by market cap. And there is a committee and so on.
What is the algorithm for VGT? A quick search on the forums also reveals that something change for VGT in 2018, but it's not clear what. And wondering how that affects the future.
Relatedly, how come AMZN and GOOG are not in VGT?
