While I don’t want to monitor the market/my portfolio everyday, I also don’t want to miss out on good buy and sell opportunities or relevant news. Ideally, only important data is pushed to me, as if I had an assistant filtering information.
I know about alerts — I’d like to be more in the loop than alerts are designed for. And they don’t filter news headlines. Ideally, everything is in one place. I can’t find an existing product that does this (please tell me if I’m wrong) so I’m going to build it myself; a personalized investing newsletter. It’ll include, in a single daily email,
1. Any of my held positions or watchlist stocks that have seen significant moves. Will highlight if their fundamentals have them potentially under/overvalued. Held positions listed will include the unrealized gains/losses of my holdings.
2. Top gainers and losers in the market. Will highlight if any of the loser’s fundamentals signal potential undervaluation compared to their like stocks.
3. News headlines pertaining to my selected stocks so I can quickly assess the reason(s) for their movements.
4. Upcoming earning statements and dividend payouts.
For the daily newsletter, if no movements amongst my positions or watchlist, no email, no noise.
Weekly and monthly newsletters to summarize the past week/month and point out upcoming events (e.g. upcoming earnings statements).
