What metrics do you pay most attention to in an earnings report?

When analyzing earnings, what do you pay most attention to? What sort of figures or statements do you look for? How do you intuitively think about some of your favorite metrics? Aside from the numbers, how much do you value what management says in its statements and responses to shareholder questions?
