People are just drones repeating these terms without thought. I mean it’s an engrained false concept that gets repeated constantly. Can you time the exact day of the trough or peak? No, but you can definitely narrow down a time window of when it will be. This is a daily occurrence for options traders.
The hold people might be dumber. You can buy and sell stock/crypto in seconds. Why when you know we are entering this recessionary period would you hold? Get out, don’t lose the 20+% downturn and buy back in when everything is cheaper and we are near the trough. What a dumb strategy to hold anything when you see this coming downturn.
