What is up with the private messages about random stocks??

Three times now that I get a private message from random reddit users asking what I think about XYZ stock.

Every time very similar message format.

“Sucks to see the market positioned where it is….”

“I'm thinking its a perfect time to load up…”

“I'm curious to know your thoughts…”

Are these bots trying to get these stocks pumped up?
