What is a companies asset value related to its stock price?

I am reading the intelligent investor by Benjamin Graham and in chapter 8 he talks about using a companies asset value that’s close to its share price when determining if or when to buy a stock.

I looked up fords asset value and it says 250 billion dollars or something as it’s asset value. Which is obviously nothing near the $16 it’s trading at right now.

Can someone help me understand what Graham means by this?
