Since recently, the topic of a possible US default by june 1st is becoming popular in US media. If the debt ceiling does not get raised and the default actually happens, the value of the USD is very likely to fall immensely. As an EU citizen who invests in the US stock market, I am significantly vulnerable to the exchange rate risk. One course of action I could take is to withdraw my money from my US brokerage account and send it to my EU bank account, but that comes with a ton of fees ($40 for withdrawal, €21eu for conversion) which I would rather not want to deal with. Hence my question is: Are there any ETFs in which I can park my USD to protect myself against exchange rate risk in the possible event of a US default?
