I often open up multiple stock graphs at once and zoom in to compare them. Something I find kind of weird is how similar the graphs for “micro-movements” or short time fluctuations of multiple different companies (and market) are. Stock A jumps up noticeably in one minute, the roughly same thing happens to a company B, and company C. Across different industries. Seems too fast to reflect any actual news. What's up with that? Is it mostly caused by just general market index changes?
