What a time we’re in right now!

Before I begin, I understand there are a lot of people who are in losses to an extent that greatly impact their lives (although technically you aren't supposed to invest money that you need in short term). I apologize if this post irritates you in any way.

But I just found myself hysterically laughing as I watch stocks go down -50%, -70%, -90%, and most of new posts in this sub nowadays are disappointing earnings followed by how much their stock plunged by.

Thankfully I'm in for the long haul, and my view on the companies haven't changed to keep holding for years after years. But I do feel like what we're going through right now, will definitely be referenced quite often later, like how we ask what it was like back in the dotcom and 2008 crash. So I'm going to try my best to take in as much as I can right now so I can share with my kids or whomever down the road.

What are some learnings/realizations that you've made, or are making right now?

Mine is – as cliche as it is, that stocks go up and down, recessions and bull markets come and go, it's a whole cycle. Invest in companies that you strongly believe in (derived from facts, not emotions) and just continue to hold or DCA unless it goes through a major shift in their core business.
