Winnebago stock is down but hasn't cratered like some other stocks. Is it only a matter of time before they get crushed by these gas prices?
The numbers are crazy. An average Winnebago holds 80 gallons of gas, and gets 8-14 mph. Let's say avg of 10 mph. So a full tank of gas ($7 gas) is $560 to fill up and will take you around 800 miles.
Can't imagine any sane person purchasing a Winnebago right now. Rich people can afford it but I've never viewed RVing as an upper class activity; I've always perceived it (perhaps incorrectly) as a middle class thing.
If people can't afford the gas, they won't purchase new Winnebago's, and the sales (and stock) will go down big time.
