I have been dcaing into a stock over the last few months. I currently have losses in some of the older purchases of that stock from months ago which would help me offset some gains. However from what I read about wash sale rules it doesnt just come into effect if you buy back with 30 days after selling as most wash sale examples explain, but also if you have bought the same stock within the last 30 days before the date you sell which I of course have done due my dcaing. Is this correct meaning I am out of luck for harvesting some losses to offset my gains in other stocks?
