U.S. jobless claims fall; inflation revised higher in fourth quarter

The number of people already collecting jobless benefits fell by 37,000 to 1.65 million. That number has been slowly trending higher since last May, when it hit 1.31 million.

In summary;

  • Weekly jobless claims fall 3,000 to 192,000
  • Continuing claims drop 37,000 to 1.654 million
  • Fourth-quarter GDP growth lowered to 2.7% from 2.9%
  • Inflation revised higher; third-quarter wage growth raised

It is good news if you are looking for good economy. It is bad news if you looking at what the Feds is going to do to a good economy.
