Trading for YE Capital Gains Distributions?

Hi all, pretty basic question here but I’m hoping someone could help. Is it worth trying to trade to play year end capital gains distributions on ETFs/Mutual Funds? For example: if the Ex Date is 12/2 and Pay date is 12/8, would it make sense buying in on 12/1 and selling on 12/9 to take full advantage of the year end distributions? Specifically I am looking at ETFs (no trade fees) with YE distribution estimates greater than 10% and trading within a Roth so there are no tax consequences for the gains distributions. My long winded question is, is this strategy worth pursuing coming up on year end?
