Hi, I hope you all having an amazing day. I'm 18 years old and I'm looking to invest some money into the S&P 500. I've read that the money invested gets split across multiple companies therefore making them a safer option for new investors. I've around 2k saved up ( ik its much but I hope I can invest it ), I'm confused on how to invest it, I heard there are many brokers like Vanguard, Fidelity and others that can be used to invest. Additionally, I was looking at index funds but there are so many VOO, VTI and others. How do I decide which one to choose for long term that will yield the highest returns. Since I've 2k saved up do I purchase the fund first and then place 100 dollars monthly? biweekly?. If I take that route ( mostly likely wrong) would the interest become compounded? If you made it this far thanks for taking the time to read my confusing post. Any information is welcomed as I'm new to the investing side 🙂 .
