Too risky/late to get into rare earth/minerals/mining funds?

Hi all

Looking to diversify my portfolio for the foreseeable 5YR-10YR period and was wondering whether investing in mineral/mining funds makes this sense given this years already high performance.

What are the current pros and cons to start a DCA for such a fund? Companies like Rio Tinto etc…

Is ESG a concern or is this just a bogus acronym?
