Apple's P/E ratio in 2009, during Q4 was almost 23. From 2010 to early 2019 its P/E ratio was between 10 and 20, only in late 2019 did it peak to 24.
Since 2020, its P/E ratio is between 27 and 40. Is Apple overvalued? Historically looking at its P/E ratio these past two years its price has not grown according to earning's. I know the market is forward looking, but it had plenty to look forward to from Apple during 2010-2019 as well.
Genuinely curious here, as Apple is my biggest holding, but learning more and how to better evaluate companies it seems Apple benefited greatly by the investor rush from 2020, and its earnings in past two years do not really support the growth the stock has seen.
Now with its almost cult-like-following in past two years, it make me wonder was Apple like this during 2010-2019? With such sudden change in past two years, Apple, seems its worth $80-$100 imo but had so many newfound investors including myself pile-in. Going against the grain here with this question, please don't publicly execute me for this lol
