How does Joe Kernan still have a job?
Look, I get that CNBC wants the show to be politically balanced. They have Andrew Ross Sorkin as their left voice. They have Becky Quick as the moderate voice/moderator. And they have Joe Kernan as the voice of the right. It's nice, it gives different perspectives.
But why the hell does Kernan get away with being so damn unprofessional?
- He barely speaks in complete sentences when he interviews guests. He interrupts them all the time, way more than his co-anchors interrupt their interviewees.
- He can't read the teleprompter without stumbling over his words or mumbling
- He lets it slip that he's reading from a teleprompter on the daily. From a Kanye West segment a week or two ago he said “they keep writing 'Ye' on the prompter. I'm not calling him 'Ye'!” There are dozens of other similar examples.
- He can't get through an interview with a male interviewee without bringing up football
- He can't get through a segment related to renewable energy without turning it into a shouting match with Andrew Ross Sorkin
- There was the whole accusation of him abusing his power to assist with Trump's 2016 campaign (I didn't witness that personally but have heard about it)
I would love for him to be replaced with a more professional right-leaning anchor. Is it just me? What does he really add to the show?
I just came here to bitch about him because I watch the show every am while drinking coffee and he absolutely grinds my gears and has for as long as I've been watching the show. I would bitch about it with my coworkers but none of them watch Squawk Box. Thanks for attending my rant/TED Talk.
