Is John Deere really worth 5% less in one day? Not a chance, yet that’s what the market has said. Target lost 3% in one day? These companies can’t possibly lose that much in one day. No other asset loses that much in one day besides crypto. The underlying company has not changed to justify such a move.
If the markets were less liquid dramatic shifts like this wouldn’t happen. The market shifts are largely speculation while the underlying businesses are more akin to a real estate property or a car or a bond than the price of gasoline or lumber
