I recently started investing/trading, when Tesla stocks dropped below the 700 mark this year. So if I’m not using the correct terminology, please let me know. I’m based in UK.
I wanted to sell when the stock hit 1000 a share, so when the split was announced I decided to leave my stocks in and set my new target to 350. I understood I risked a dip, and was prepared for a longer hold, but also that if more people bought in I could also make money.
However, I’ve logged into AJ Bell YouInvest this morning and my Tesla stock is down 60%?!? Checked Yahoo Finance and the actual stock hasn’t crashed like that. Just my account.
Please can someone explain what’s going on? How has this happened?
Edit: I understand that the individual share price has been split, but the amount I hold in total value should not have decreased this much. I’m 60% down on my TOTAL investment.
