Supplemental Funds

My parents didn’t do a good job saving for retirement cause they didn’t have the privilege or education to do so (immigrants). I need to help provide funds for them as now they are approaching retirement age. They can’t extend working cause my mom is now disabled.

I want to continue to give them money without compromising my own financial health cause I don’t want to feel guilty of taking from my kids. Odd predicament I know, I’m getting therapy.

So Reddit, please help advise me. If you have 20k to invest and need to have a monthly or quarterly income and minimize risk of losing principal, what would you invest in? Ideally would need at least $100/month.
