So what’s the plan for the impending population crisis?

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, more than 56 million adults ages 65 and older live in the United States, about 16.9% of the nation's population. By 2030 it is projected that there will be more than 73.1 million older adults.

This coupled with decreasing immigration, and most importantly the increasingly spammed headlines about “millEnNials nOt hAviNg enOugh kiDs”, will inevitably lead to fewer regular contributions to 401k's and more withdrawals as boomers and old coots use it up for end of life costs.

Now I don't know how slowly or quickly this will all come into effect but “next few decades” or prior to millennial retirement sounds… possible? Most obvious effects seem like decreasing company profits because fewer people around, and of course decreased regular investments, leading to stonk market crashing slowly into oblivion.

How can we prepare for this? If there simply aren't enough people to contribute to this “group effort” we have going on here with 401ks, sp500 funds, etc. then isn't it all set up to slowly grind down to a crawl?
