Should I hold onto XOM?

Hello Reddit. I'm pretty new to investing. I mostly got into it because I found everything to do with economics interesting and decided that books or podcasts can only do so much, and that I would learn more by actually trading.

Anyways, I decided to basically buy a bit of everything to see how different stocks/funds/ETFs/commodities etc reacted to news developments and macroeconomic circumstances.

I bought Exxon when it cost around 108 and everyone was predicting 100USD a barrel, which obviously didn't happen.

I'm a patient person and don't mind hanging onto it as an insure in case the world turns ugly, and know oil is ridiculously cyclical. I also think most people underestimate how long the world will need fossil fuels and their products, much as I wish it were easier to transition.

So was just wondering if there are any arguments for cutting my losses and getting out now, i.e if you guys see any reason to doubt the stock will recover.

Thanks, and also for all the thoughtful posts on other subjects one sees here. I keep learning stuff.
