Sharing my investment between SP500 and Amazon, Apple, Microsoft and Google

I am new to investing, but I want to start doing it, I have started to inform myself more and more and wanted to start investing by investing 50% on SP500 and 50% on companies that I have mentioned above. I wanted to start with 10k as a start and to add every month 500. Is this bad idea?
