One of my losing positions is PYPL which has dropped by more than 40%. I invested thinking that it was a good company but now I’m somewhat less confident in it. Does it make sense to just take a loss, sell everything, and immediately put the remaining funds into SPY or VTI?
Honestly speaking, I feel like SPY or VTI will likely grow higher and make a faster profit than holding my funds in PYPL.
So what’s the benefit of holding onto stocks you lost confidence in vs. just selling it and switching it into a more promising stock like SPY?
