Selling Stocks vs Exchanging Foreign Currency Visiting Home Country

I'm American. My wife and I live in Korea. We have adequate trip funds in our bank in Korea. But it's in Korean Won, which like most currencies is weak compared to USD. To finance our two month vacation to the U.S. we have two options. A.) Exchange Korean Currency for USD (incurring fees along with a poor exchange rate) B.) I sell about $10 – $15k of my VTI/VXUS Index funds and have that USD directly deposited to my US Bank.

I lean toward Option A because there are many tales of “If you miss out on the top 10 or 30 days of year (X), you lost so much in gains). But I consider Option B because my returns on $10 – $15k wouldn't be THAT substantial.

Thanks for any thoughts or feedback!
