My company has a stock purchase plan that has allowed me to buy company stock at a 15% discount, which I've accrued for about 6 years. I'm debating whether or not to sell the majority of it to increase the down payment on a new house.
Part of me thinks that the stock won't go up forever, and that it may just be worth it to sell now (as I will keep accruing new discounted shares over time), or am I cashing out too early? I'm not necessarily looking for “what to do,” more on how to think about this and what factors to consider.
Appreciate it!
