“Selling and buying back lower” are not mutually exclusive

I see so many people make fun of people for selling, saying that “you’ll just sell and buy back at ATH” or that no one can “time the bottom perfectly.” While the latter is true, it’s possible to sell and set a buy order at a lower price than you sold. That way, you don’t have to time the bottom perfectly, and theoretically still guard against more losses if you’re truly that confident in your thesis. There’s no absolutism here, and you can still win without staying fully invested 100% of the time. Mantras aren’t meant to be taken by the word, but applied with context and perspective.
