Sell orders above market price

Let's say I have a stock that is worth 4,5 USD.

When I try to place a sell order with my broker for that stock at 8 USD I get an error saying “Price is too far from market”

I stil have some sell orders from that stock, placed a while back, with a sell price of 8+ USD that are GTC and still up.

Is there a maximum percentage that I can go above the current market price for sell orders? Or are there other rules?
