SDIV and my Traditional IRA

Hello folks. I've been investing in SDIV since 2013. It has a great dividend but I'm down 49% (~$9,000). I've always kept DRIP turned on to help DCA but I'm thinking it might be time to cut my losses?

The rest of my Trad IRA is composed of SDY, $3,000 cash, and the total market value of the account is $14,000.

$6,000 plus small gains makes up the only non-deductible amount in the account.

I've been told I should do a backdoor Roth.

My questions are:

  1. Should I do the backdoor, and if so, should I do it all in one go or space it out over a few years?
  2. Should I wait to do it altogether? If the economy crashes and then I do it, I'll pay lower taxes on the conversion (I think)
  3. What to do with SDIV short and long term?

Thanks!
