SaaS Manager interviewing for another role: How do I overcome some of my gaps and play to my strengths?

I have an interview on Monday for another SaaS Finance Manager role.

My strengths that aligns with the job description:

  • +3 years of SaaS experience
  • 1 year as a Manager
  • I have experience owning a forecasting cycle on a monthly basis and an annual planning process
  • I have experience owning & operating an entire ARR model
  • I have experience working with GTM, R&D, and other departments partnering with them on process improvements, business cases, and other analytical support
  • I have experience benchmarking my company against peers and having a strong understanding of the landscape since I'm also an investor
  • Expert proficiency with financial systems including Adaptive, Tableau, and SQL

My gaps according to the job description:

  • Little experience with new product launches (I've supported two product launches, but they were not meaningful to the business's total results)
  • No M&A experience
  • No experience with international operations (all of my companies sold 100% to North America )
  • No real experience with a pre-IPO company (technically my past company were pre-IPO, the business was far behind IPO Readiness and has struggled significantly so I can't really mention this with a straight face)
