General question basically just looking for anyone, maybe a whale, that particularly knows the answer.
What would happen say a company’s market cap was 150 million and I’m just some billionaire who’s fucking around and I buy 75 million worth of that stock. When that stocks normal volume is something like 4-5 million a day, this would obviously cause the price to go up. But really my question is, what would happen to the overall share price? Do I technically own a large portion of company now? Like I understand the owner and CEO would own a certain amount of different shares/options that aren’t traded or on the active market. Does the market cap then all of a sudden jump 75 million to 225 million.
Just interested in the educational side of it and say I do become a billionaire someday, if I could do this for a small company I believed in lol
