Sorry for if this is the wrong sub to ask this but I figured since it relates to investments, I hope that someone can give their 2 cents in the matter. I'm currently in an interview process for an employer that does NOT offer 401K. I know there are other options such as Traditional IRA.
But I still prefer 401K due to the following reasons:
- Max contribution limit is higher'
- Employer match
- I don't have to set an account on my own (like IRA)
In my case since I prefer 401K, would you say a big incentive for to me move forward with this employer if i ask for a higher salary to compensate for not offering 401K? Of course, not going to mention the 401K part.
