Hello,
So I'm quite young – early to mid 20s. I got tied up with a friend who has a really wealthy connected dad, we started a marketing business at 17, and did (and continue to) do well. I have just under $1m in VT/VTI. $60k-ish cash. Some watches. And that's really it.
I feel like I've wasted my late teens and early twenties and want to enjoy my life. Not saying I'm going to go buy a ferrari and blow money – but I have $1m in the stock market – great – what is that going to do for me? Only time I actually see stocks doing something for me is with high dividend stocks and me being 60 years old.
Am I missing something here? Awhile I'm not going to sell off my stock, if this is simply a game of “collect as much as you can”, I think going into real estate that pays me every month (even if it causes more headaches) is more my speed so I can enjoy the cashflow.
So, am I missing something? Do I keep investing to eventually take loans out against it? Do I buy dividend stocks? Idk.. Just feel lost
