Petition to Ban PFOF

Greetings,

I wanted to share a petition to ban PFOF (payment for order flow) and the abuse of dark pools.

PFOF allows a market maker or hedge fund to purchase retail investor order data BEFORE their orders execute. This allows the buyer to know people's trades in order to trade ahead of them or against them. This amounts to a net LOSS for ALL retail investors, as our profits or portions of our profits get stolen before our order even completes.

Dark pools are unregulated private exchanges where NO price discovery occurs. Market makers will send BUY side retail orders to dark pools to prevent stocks from moving up in price. They allow SELL side to happen in the LIT exchange where PRICE discovery DOES happen. This affect pushes stock prices down and they profit from this thru short positions on the stock.

Please sign this petition to end these practices and return some form of fairness back to the market.

As it is now ALL retail investments, be them individual stock buys or 401Ks, suffer from PFOF and dark pool abuse.
