In my earlier life, I worked with a European employer (in Europe) for almost a decade. It was a great life, but circumstances made me move to the US. I still kept tabs on my employer's stock.
Now I am seriously considering buying their stock but it is available in the OTC market only. I have never bought such a stock. I did some reading on OTC stocks, and nothing really flagged me as of concern, but I may have missed something. Hence posting here for experienced folks to comment.
How different do these stocks behave compared to stocks listed on NASDAQ/NYSE?
If these stocks provide dividends, other than foreign tax withholding of ~26%, how do they differ?
If I am to sell these stocks (on limit), how do they differ from NASDAQ/NYSE listed stocks?
What fees am I looking at, if any, to purchase and sell these stocks? I have accounts with Fidelity and Schwab.
Thanks in advance.
