So my company gives us RSUs (Restricted Stock Units) and ESPP (Employee Stock Purchase Program).
A organizational wide email will get sent out to tell us when we are allowed to trade and when we are not allowed to trade. These open trading windows are a few days after our quarterly earnings release.
So this might sound stupid, but like clockwork, every time the open window…opens..the stock seems to drop off a few percentages and just stays there (even when we continue to show good earnings)…..when the trading window closes, the stock like magic, will generally increase in price. This pattern happens almost every single quarter of every single year.
Is the Free Market (Wall Street / Hedge Funds) adjusting for Insiders who own stocks? Is this a known thing or am I just crazy?
