One of the reasons why there is a housing shortage or will be in the USA.

Companies like $AMH and $INVH have been buying housing around the USA since the last crash (2008 Financial Crisis) in all major urban areas. They renovative the homes, create a smart system, an app, website, services and stuff.

Then they lease it out, like an apartment but instead it's a full house in a nice American suburban neighborhood. These companies (I don't know if there are any private ones that do this as well) own usually 100+ houses in most of the states reducing the supply that buyers could own themselves.

It's good for individuals who have large families, but can't fit them in an apartment or for families always moving like military.
