Non-deductible capital losses

I in a state (NJ) that does not allow for deducting capital losses that exceed capital gains. If I have taken capital losses during the year (through tax loss harvesting) that put me in the net negative, does it make sense to try to cancel those out with unrealized gains from other securities (in effect, tax gain harvesting) so I don't lose out on the tax savings from those losses?
