I purchased ARK funds in 2020 and at the time it represented about 10% of my portfolio. Obviously, ARK has crashed quite a bit since 2020, and I was looking for advice on when a good opportunity to sell would be. The way I see it, I have a two options:
-
Sell when I need to off-set any realized gains for tax purposes. Throw the proceeds into one of my index fund investments.
-
Hold it, I am 26 years old so I could wait for the fund to recover a bit more before choosing to sell.
My fear with holding is that it’ll only continue to plummet, but given that I am fairly young I am comforted by the fact that I have time on my side.
Would love to hear any insight or opinions on these options or whether there are any options/information I am not considering. I only started investing a few years ago, so I am still very new to handling situations like this.
