Looking for books on global financial / monetary system

Hi, I am trying to explore how the global financial system works. As early as last year, we had predictions being made that we will see high inflation this year because of the Fed's quantitative easing post-covid. The All-in podcast's discussion of this topic has been very telling. I am looking for a systemic understanding of factors like the interest rate, inflation rate, commodity prices, employment numbers, consumer confidence etc. Even though I have a finance background, I have only seen standalone explanations for these topics. What I have been unable to find so far is an explanation of the relationships between these factors and their implications for wealth building. Would also be interesting to see how adding the geopolitics layer on this changes things. Unfortunately resources I have seen so far don't explore relationships beyond surface level.

Mostly, I'd say that I don't know what I don't know so any references to useful books or documentaries would be helpful. Shouldn't be too simple (e.g. how increasing interest rates is a contractionary policy that reduces inflation and increases unemployment – that's just Econ 101). But also shouldn't be too complicated. Thanks!
