So I work in a Swiss bank and therefore am required by my employer to use them as a broker. I'm a beginner in investing and would like to invest a minimum of 10k this year. The colleagues I know are investing aren't interested in US stocks. But I am, because there's much more information and coverage on US stocks out there and I'm more familiar with those companies. Plus I feel like the SnP500 will outperform other indexes in the mid-long term.
But unfortunately, our broker charges a commission of 75 USD for each stock buy under 5000 USD. The rate goes down the higher the buy, but I don't have that kind of money (next break is 15k) . I don't think it's wise to drop my whole 10K in a single buy and was thinking to buy stocks every 2 month or so worth around 1500 USD (which will include 75 USD fee transaction). Is this an OK buy amount, or should I buy in even higher to decrease the rate of the fee?
